Zelensky’s joint news conference with Trump’s Ukraine envoy cancelled at U.S. request

A press conference scheduled to follow the meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and U.S. presidential envoy Keith Kellogg on Thursday was cancelled at the U.S.’s request, Ukrainska Pravda reports.

“At the request of the American side, the meeting format includes only protocol filming and does not allow for statements or questions,” Zelensky’s press secretary, Serhiy Nykyforov, told the newspaper.

On social media, Zelensky described the meeting as “good,” thanking the U.S. for its support of the Ukrainian people and Kellogg personally for their “joint efforts to achieve important results.”

“We discussed in detail the situation on the battlefield, how to bring all our prisoners home, and effective security guarantees,” the Ukrainian president said.
