Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov says Moscow ready to make deal with U.S. on Ukraine but some points still 'need to be fine-tuned'
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told CBS in an interview that some parts of the draft agreement aimed at ending the war in Ukraine still “need to be fined tuned.”
“The President of the United States believes, and I think rightly so, that we are moving in the right direction. The statement by the president mentions a deal and we are ready to reach a deal, but there are still some specific points — elements of this deal which need to be fine-tuned,” Lavrov said in excerpts of the interview aired on Thursday.
Lavrov added that, in his view, the two sides are “moving in the right direction” because Trump is “probably the only leader on Earth who recognized the need to address the root causes of this situation.”
The full interview with Lavrov is scheduled to air on Sunday, April 27.
