Trump administration briefly halts arms shipments to Ukraine before reversing course — Reuters
The Trump administration temporarily halted arms shipments to Ukraine from aid packages approved by the previous administration, Reuters reported on Feb. 3, citing sources familiar with the matter.
According to two sources, deliveries resumed over the weekend of Feb. 1–2, after the White House abandoned its initial plan to suspend all assistance to Ukraine.
Officials in the Trump administration remain divided over how much the U.S. should continue supplying Kyiv with weapons from its stockpiles, one source said.
On Feb. 3, Trump said he hoped to reach an agreement with Ukraine that would tie U.S. aid to access to rare earth metals.
The Trump administration has not announced any new aid packages for Ukraine, though shipments approved under the Biden administration were expected to continue for several months.
