U.S. President Donald Trump said his administration had scheduled meetings with Ukraine, Russia, and “various parties.”
“We’re dealing with Ukraine and Russia, we have meetings and talks scheduled with various parties, including Ukraine and Russia,” Trump told reporters at Joint Base Andrews on Sunday, as quoted by CNN.
He provided no further details and did not specify which parties he was referring to. Neither Ukraine nor Russia has officially reported any contacts with the Trump administration regarding negotiations.
On January 31, Trump claimed that discussions between Washington and Moscow were already underway, describing them as “very serious,” but did not elaborate.
In an interview with the Associated Press on February 1, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said excluding Ukraine from U.S.-Russia talks on achieving peace would be “very dangerous.”
