A Ryazan man attempted to burn himself alive on Sunday, Sept. 25, at Ryazan’s central bus terminal, reports the local news channel, YA62.
A video published by Novaya Gazeta shows the man dousing himself with lighter fluid and then setting himself on fire. A witness told Y62 that the man engulfed in flames “laughed and shouted that he did not want to be part of the special operation” in Ukraine. “I don’t want to go to war!” he also shouted.
The man’s present condition is unknown. According to Novaya Gazeta’s Ryazan office, he has a 90 burn of his bodily surface. In a second video, published by YA62, he leaves the scene on foot, accompanied by emergency medics.
