Moscow’s media shares photos of rocket launchers in Kursk region as Ukraine denies Putin’s claim about border breach
Russian forces are attempting to reclaim areas of country’s the Kursk region that have come under Ukrainian control. President Vladimir Putin claimed that Russian troops crossed into Ukraine from the Kursk region on February 19, but he provided no further details, stating only that “our forces are advancing along the entire line of contact.”
Ukraine’s State Border Guard Service, however, said it had recorded no attempts by Russian forces to breach the border from the Kursk region. In turn, the Ukrainian army’s General Staff dismissed Putin’s claim as disinformation.
Meanwhile, Russian state media continues to report on alleged military gains in the Kursk region. RIA Novosti published photos of Uragan multiple launch rocket systems operated by the BARS-22 “Tiger” unit, part of Russia’s BARS volunteer army reserve, reportedly taken in the Kursk region on February 11.
