On the evening of October 5, a video was widely circulated on social media which allegedly shows 500 mobilized men in the Belgorod region. The people complain they were not assigned to any unit and were left with unaccounted weapons, and that they have spent a week in “brutal conditions,” without material support and forced to buy their own food. It’s unknown who shot the video. Mark Krutov, a journalist with Radio Liberty, noted that one of the men in the clip wears the symbol for the Wagner Group, and another is Moscow resident Sergey Surkov, who made a video about problems in the army about a week ago.
