On Sunday, August 23, Minsk witnessed another mass protest demanding the resignation of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko (Alyaksandr Lukashenka). According to Meduza’s estimates, 150,000 people joined the demonstrations (the Sunday before, August 16, around 200,000 people took to the streets). The protesters gathered at Independence Square and then marched through the city center towards the presidential residence, Independence Palace. A chain of police officers stopped them from going any further. Photographer Evgeny Feldman was on the ground covering the fifteenth day of protests in the Belarusian capital for Meduza. Here’s what he saw.
